Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Please read these terms carefully. They explain how Homeobangla works, what you can expect from us and from the doctors on the Platform, and what we expect from you.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Homeobangla mobile app, the website at homeobangla.com and the related doctor and staff tools (together, the "Platform"), operated by Homeobangla ("Homeobangla", "we", "us") in India. By creating an account, booking a consultation or applying as a doctor, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require a physical or digital signature.
2. What Homeobangla provides
Homeobangla is a technology platform that connects patients with independent homeopathy doctors for online video consultations, and lets doctors issue digital prescriptions. We provide the technology, verify doctors' registration and handle payments; we do not practise medicine and do not give medical advice ourselves.
Doctors on the Platform are independent registered medical practitioners, not our employees or agents. Each doctor is solely responsible for the consultation, diagnosis, advice and prescriptions they give, and for complying with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 and the rules of their profession.
The app may show a catalogue of homeopathic medicines for information. Ordering or buying medicines through the Platform is not currently offered; if we introduce it, we will update these Terms first.
3. Medical disclaimer and emergencies
The Platform is not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency (for example chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness or thoughts of self-harm), call 112 or go to the nearest hospital immediately.
An online consultation has limits: the doctor cannot physically examine you. The doctor may decide that a teleconsultation is not suitable for your condition and advise you to see a doctor in person. Information on the Platform outside a consultation (such as medicine descriptions or health content) is general information, not medical advice, and should not replace advice from a qualified doctor. Do not stop or change treatment prescribed by another doctor without speaking to them.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Consultations for a person under 18 must be booked through a family profile created and managed by their parent or lawful guardian, who should be present during the consultation.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address or with your Google account. Keep access to your email and devices secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- The information you give us and the doctor, including your profile and intake form, must be true, complete and up to date. A doctor relies on it to treat you safely.
- You may add profiles for family members only with their consent or, for a minor, as their parent or guardian.
5. Bookings, fees and payments
- Each doctor sets their own consultation fee, which is shown before you pay. The fee covers one video consultation in the slot you book.
- When you choose a slot it is held for you for a short time while you pay. The booking is confirmed only once payment succeeds; if payment does not complete in time, the hold lapses and the slot may be taken by someone else.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay, our payment partner, under its own terms. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Please join the call on time. If you miss your appointment, it may be treated as a no-show without a refund. If the doctor does not join or a technical problem on our side prevents the consultation, contact us and we will arrange a rescheduled consultation or a refund.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancelling a confirmed consultation from the app is not yet available. If you need to cancel or have a problem with a booking, email us at support@homeobangla.com with your appointment details and we will help.
If a payment fails but money is deducted, if you are charged twice for the same booking, or if your payment succeeds but the booking cannot be confirmed (for example because the slot is no longer available), the amount is refunded to your original payment method. Refunds normally reach your account within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
7. Prescriptions
After your consultation the doctor may issue a digital prescription, which you can view in the app. Whether to prescribe, and what, is entirely the doctor's professional decision; a consultation does not guarantee a prescription. Follow the doctor's instructions, and contact them or another doctor if your symptoms worsen.
8. Additional terms for doctors
- You must hold a valid registration to practise homeopathy with the State Board or Council of Homoeopathy or the central register maintained under the National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, 2020, and keep it valid while you use the Platform.
- Everything you submit in your application, including your qualifications, registration number and identity documents, must be genuine and accurate. We verify your application before activating your account and may refuse or revoke access if anything is false, expired or cannot be verified. Tell us promptly about any change, suspension or cancellation of your registration.
- You must follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, including identifying yourself and the patient, obtaining consent, using your professional judgment about whether a teleconsultation is appropriate, keeping consultation records and prescribing only as the guidelines permit.
- You must keep patient information confidential and use it only to treat the patient, and must not contact patients you meet on the Platform to move consultations or payments off the Platform.
- You set your consultation fee and availability. We collect fees from patients on your behalf and pay them to you after deducting the platform fee agreed with you.
- Keep to the slots you publish. Repeated missed consultations or complaints may lead to suspension.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- impersonate anyone or give false information, including false medical or professional details;
- harass, abuse or threaten doctors, patients or our staff, or behave inappropriately during a call;
- record a consultation without the express consent of the other participant;
- upload or share anything unlawful, or anything prohibited under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, interfere with the Platform's security, or copy, scrape or reverse-engineer it; or
- use the Platform for any purpose other than genuine consultations.
10. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its software, design, text and the Homeobangla name and logo, belongs to Homeobangla or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app and website for their intended purpose. Your own information remains yours.
11. Third-party services
The Platform relies on third-party services such as Razorpay (payments), Agora (video calls), Google (sign-in and push notifications) and Cloudflare (network and storage). Their availability is outside our full control, and your use of them may also be subject to their own terms.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and delete your account yourself, in the app from Settings → Delete account or on our Delete your account page, after confirming a one-time code sent to your email. Deletion takes effect at once. Records we must keep by law, such as consultation records and payment records, are retained without your identity as described in the Privacy Policy.
An account cannot be deleted while it has a paid consultation that has not yet taken place, or a paid medicine order that has not been delivered. Contact us at support@homeobangla.com to resolve it first.
We may suspend or close an account, with notice where reasonable, if it breaches these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect patients, doctors or the Platform. Paid consultations that we cancel for reasons other than a breach by you are refunded.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work to keep the Platform available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is" and may occasionally be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of network problems.
Because doctors are independent practitioners, Homeobangla is not liable for the medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or prescriptions they give. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to a consultation is limited to the fee you paid for that consultation. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
You agree to compensate Homeobangla for loss caused by your fraud, false information or breach of these Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any dispute. If it cannot be resolved, it will be decided by the competent courts in India.
15. Grievance Officer and contact
Questions, complaints and reports of content or conduct that breaches these Terms can be sent to our Grievance Officer, appointed under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it:
- Grievance Officer: [Grievance Officer name]
- Email: support@homeobangla.com (subject line "Grievance")
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add or change features. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect; continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the updated Terms.
